About the Computer Science Degree Program

On Campus

Students in the Computer Science degree program learn to leverage computer science with advanced problem solving techniques to develop innovative software solutions. UNK's Cyber Systems Department is the right place for students who want to personalize their educational experience, implementing and leading their own projects under the direction of experienced faculty members in an ABET accredited program.

At UNK, Students work collaboratively as they design, develop and implement software solutions, such as mobile apps, video games and robotics software. Students gain real-world experience by completing hands-on projects and gain a strong theoretical foundation that prepares them for successful careers. Students also have the opportunity to compete in regional competitions such as hacking, programming and robotics.

The Computer Science curriculum is continually updated to keep pace with changing industry needs and practices, so students graduate with skills that are in demand in today’s job market. The practical focus of the program is supported by Discovery Hall, UNK’s 90,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art STEM facility. Discovery Hall gives computer science students access to cutting-edge technology, modern classrooms and interactive lab spaces that allow their ideas to flourish.
