Travel Content Creators

Get ready for an adventure across the globe—no passport required! Travel to incredible destinations through virtual reality, experiencing new cultures, famous landmarks, and breathtaking sights. Then, take your discoveries to the next level by creating your own travel content! Whether you’re writing, filming, or recording, you’ll learn how to craft engaging stories just like a real digital content creator. The world is at your fingertips—are you ready to explore?


Mud Masters

Prepare to dress for a mess! Learn how to mold, sculpt, and surface your very own clay creations! You will even spend a day learning how to throw on the pottery wheel! By the end of the week, you will be a master of mud! (Note: Work will be fired and available for pickup 10 days after the end of the workshop.)

Embroidery & Embellishments

Explore the world of embroidery and fashion embellishments! Explore all types of embroidery, from traditional hoop to liquid 3D as you also learn about fashion through history. Use decorative stitches and bejeweled beading to create custom accessories, home décor gifts, and fashionable designs! Leave with your very own custom tote bag. Prepare to be bedazzled!


Flavor Fiesta

Pack your bags and get ready to eat! As you travel through Spanish-speaking countries, you’ll use kitchen tools, fresh ingredients, and exciting recipes to create delicious dishes like pupusas, tostadas, quesadillas, and more! You’ll write about your culinary creations, taste-test your dishes, and learn new Spanish words, acquiring worldwide cultural stories behind each new recipe! (Note: This class is not recommended for students with food allergies.)

Adventures in Babysitting

Calling all aspiring babysitters! Want to learn the basics of safe, fun, and effective child care? Then this is the class for you! You will learn everything from first aid basics and CPR, to creating age-appropriate activities, building trust with parents, and mastering how to hold and care for a baby. You will even leave with a tag-along toolkit to take with you on babysitting jobs, as well as the skills and tools to be everyone’s favorite and most reliable sitter!


LEGOS, Legends, & Lore

Spend a week unleashing your imagination as you explore the world’s coolest legends and lore, all while creating masterful LEGO creations! From the mighty gods of Greek Mythology, the elusive Loch Ness Monster, and towering Yetis, you will be wildly entertained as you uncover the secrets behind the world’s most fascinating legends! With each history told, you will use LEGOS to make these myths a reality!


The Science of Sports

Game Makers

Get ready to play, strategize, and create in Game Makers! Challenge yourself with a variety of strategy games—master classics like Checkers and Pitch, dive into modern board games such as Hues & Cues and Reversi, and tackle quick-thinking card games. As you play, you’ll also explore the artistic side of games, using color, design, and symmetry to create visually striking boards and pieces. Then, put your skills to the test by designing and playing your very own game. Whether you’re an artist, a strategist, or both, this camp is your chance to think creatively and play boldly!


Stretch Your Brain

Explore the science of elasticity! Using rubber bands, you will investigate how force, motion, tension, and potential energy make objects move! From catapults to propelling helicopters to building boats, you will use simple, stretchy bands, to stretch your creativity and your mind!

Hello, young artists! Explore the collection at the Museum of Nebraska Art and fabricate your own artistic creations! Uncover the stories behind selected artworks, discover how museums display and care for the collection, make your own masterpieces, and curate an exhibition to showcase your own work! Get ready to explore the world of art like never before! (Note: This class is offered at MONA from 9:15 am-12:15 pm. You are responsible for drop-off and pick-up at this alternative camp location.)
