In today’s world, information is everywhere—but not all of it is true. From outright lies and half-truths to satire (think The Onion or parody videos) and cleverly spun stories, how can you tell what’s real and what’s meant to mislead? This session will help you filter the noise by teaching you how to spot different types of misinformation, and propaganda in news articles, social media posts, memes, and more. You’ll learn practical tips and tools to critically evaluate what you see and hear, so you can make informed decisions and avoid being fooled by fake news, viral hoaxes, or misleading satire.
