The UNK Astronomy Club invites you to witness a rare and awe-inspiring celestial event: a Total Lunar Eclipse on Friday morning from 12:30 AM to 1:30 AM. This stunning phenomenon occurs when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon, casting its shadow and turning the Moon a mesmerizing red-orange color, often referred to as a "Blood Moon."

During the eclipse, the Moon will pass through the Earth's umbra, the darkest part of its shadow, creating a breathtaking sight that you won’t want to miss. We’ll have telescopes available for you to look through, so you can get an up-close view of the Moon as it transitions through the eclipse, and expert astronomers will be on hand to guide you through the science behind the eclipse and provide fascinating insights into this extraordinary event.
