Mirim Kim

Biography

Dr. Mirim Kim is a collaborative pianist who loves to make music with people and inspire audiences. She recently joined the University of Nebraska at Kearney as a Collaborative Pianist. Dr. Kim graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Music in Piano at the Sookmyung Women's University. She holds a master’s degree in Piano from Indiana University, where she served as an Assistant Instructor in Piano. She also earned her master’s and Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Collaborative Piano at The University of Texas at Austin, where she served as a Teaching Assistant. 

Her performance career as a collaborative pianist includes various types of performance, including duo recitals, studio recitals, masterclasses, concerto competitions, ensemble concerts (choir, band, and orchestra), opera, and musical theater productions. Dr. Kim has collaborated with all the instruments, including harp and marimba.

Dr. Kim was a collaborative pianist for many music festivals, such as Domaine Forget International Festival, Castleman Quartet Program, SongFest, and Music Academy of The West. She also worked with many regional high schools in Texas and served as an accompanist for state competitions and performances.
