Biz Kids Camp

Thank you for your interest in Biz Kidz! Due to health concerns and gathering restrictions surrounding COVID-19, Biz Kidz will not be held in-person in the summer of 2020. The Center for Entrepreneurship and Rural Development is actively exploring other ways to engage with youth in Kearney and the surrounding area. Follow us on Facebook to stay up-to-date on upcoming events.

Entrepreneurship Camp

A light snack will be provided mid-session

Turn your passion into a real life business this summer! The UNK Center for Entrepreneurship and Rural Development is offering a special entrepreneur class for youth ages 11-12. This day camp aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills to start your own business or improve an existing one!

Students can capture their energy to create and run your own business. Participants will create their business and have the opportunity to sell their goods at a public venue. We have averaged 15 middle school aged campers each summer from 2012 to 2018. Their average final sale at the Expo as a group is $500-600 in 2 hours. Post program evaluation results show a 75% increase in youth entrepreneurial confidence, knowledge, and skills.

Aliese Hoffman, Assistant Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Rural Development at UNK, is excited to teach this class and work with youth from Kearney and the surrounding area!
