It’s a strand you’ll find weaving through everything you do at UNK, a constant as you change and push yourself beyond what you thought were your limits.
- You'll learn to connect and listen as they lead discussions within the classroom, successful experiments in the laboratory, and head research teams that complete exciting and original projects.
- You'll hone their vision by getting involved in every student organization you can imagine (and a few you cannot). You'll think up new and more efficient ways of managing the Antelope; become role models within the Greek organizations you belong to; and lead your Jazz-Rock Ensemble to performances across the region.
- You'll teach yourself to make quick yet strategic decisions to help your athletic team win big games; confront and resolve real challenges during an internship; and spearhead local community-service efforts.

We believe that the best way to create a community you can be proud of, is to offer you as many opportunities as we can to shape and improve that community. This is why UNK offers more than 20 organizations where you can make an impact in both student government as well as residence government. Becoming a member of some of these organizations not only allows you to fine-tune your leadership abilities but also make recommendations on the quality of life at UNK.
"I have served as a Freshman Student Senator and as the chief of staff under the UNK Student Body president. I am an R.A in the Christian Student Fellowship House and I am on the Christian Student Fellowship Leadership Team. I have even worked as an intern for Senator Chuck Hagel. UNK has taught me that I can do whatever I put my mind to, and I cannot think of a better way to prepare for my future."
