The UNK Learning Commons opens the first week of school with evening-only walk-in services for the Writing Center and Subject Tutoring. Full tutoring schedules begin the second week (September 2) with both daytime and evening hours for walk-in and appointment-based help.

  • You can access the full Subject Tutoring schedule online and in print by noon on Wednesday, September 3rd.
  • Supplemental Instruction sessions also begin the second week of school.

The UNK Learning Commons (LC) is a collaboration of the Calvin T. Ryan Library and the Division of Student Affairs. A student-centered space, the Learning Commons targets the needs of students wanting to improve their understanding of course material through the development of stronger learning skills. Together, these teams work to provide outstanding student service in accordance with our Mission Statement: The Learning Commons centralizes academic support services to foster student confidence and independence in a collaborative learning environment. Students come to the Learning Commons alone or in groups to access the library's print and electronic collections, use technology for research and coursework, and access course and writing assistance.
