Pupil Transportation is a division of the Nebraska Safety Center at the University of Nebraska at Kearney campus. The Pupil Transportation program was created in May of 2000 through a contract with the Nebraska Department of Education to provide services regarding Nebraska Department of Education's administrative rule code.

COMMERCIAL DRIVER LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
Effective January 1, 2012, all individuals holding a Nebraska Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) are required to certify to the DMV what type of operation they engage in no later than January 30, 2014. More information is available on the DMV web-site or you may call (402) 471-3861.
Level Certification Expiration Dates:
With the changes in Rule 91, implemented June 7, 2008 – drivers whose Level certification expires on or after June 7, 2008 will have their expiration date automatically extended one year. Drivers whose certifications expired on or before June 6, 2008 will be grandfathered under the old policy, which allowed drivers to complete a Level 2 course within one year of the expiration of their current Level Certification. Modified 15-Passenger Van Information
NDE Pupil Transportation Rule 91 and Rule 92 (effective March 9, 2008) states that beginning June 7, 2011, vans originally manufactured as 15-passenger vans and modified so the seating was 10 passengers or less (not including the driver) can no longer be used to transport students. This ban does not include 12-passenger vans which have been modified by the dealer or manufacturer.
