Turn your passion into a real life business this summer! The UNK Center for Entrepreneurship and Rural Development is offering a special entrepreneur class for youth ages 11-12. This day camp aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills to start your own business or improve an existing one!
Students can capture their energy to create and run your own business. Participants will create their business and have the opportunity to sell their goods at a public venue. We have averaged 15 middle school aged campers each summer from 2012 to 2018. Their average final sale at the Expo as a group is $500-600 in 2 hours. Post program evaluation results show a 75% increase in youth entrepreneurial confidence, knowledge, and skills.
Aliese Hoffman, Coordinator of Experiential Student Entrepreneurship Education & Administrative Specialist at the Center for Entrepreneurship, is excited to teach this class and work with Kearney youth!
CERD and the Nebraska Extension ESI program continue to help our young entrepreneurs build skills in a 4 day camp that ends with an ESI Expo.
This entrepreneurship day camp will take place on the UNK campus and is sure to get your students excited about business ownership in a fun and interactive environment. The camp is complete with guest speakers and a chance to actually sell their product/service during a choice between two expo opportunities.
Aliese is an Entrepreneurship Educator and helps kids develop their own business skills. In a fun and interactive way, Aliese brushes the surface on real-life business skills such as financial management, customer service, public speaking, problem solving, creativity, and confidence.
