Take the First Step Towards a Successful Year
The Loper Success Academy is a full-semester program designed to help students build strong connections within the UNK community and reach good academic standing. The program includes:
- Personalized support from a peer success coach and a professional staff member
- Weekly small-group meetings for academic help, social support, and accountability
- Workshops on academics, wellness, and campus life
- Timely updates on key academic dates and campus events
- Academic check-ins including a mid-term grade review and an end-of-semester celebration
Apply for the Academy and optional Loper Success Week
Loper Success Week - Aug. 17-21, 2025
Week is optional to members of the Loper Success Academy but limited to 30 students.
- Move-in early on Aug.16. Commuter students are welcome too.
- Participate in workshops and presentations to prepare for the first day of classes and learn how to be successful at UNK.
- Get familiar with campus before all other students arrive.
- Join in on the fun with daily activities with new and returning students.
- Note: All meals are covered for the week until fall meal plans begin on Aug. 22.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Open to new and current students who are not already part of another support program, such as Susan T. Buffett Scholarship recipients, TRIO, or Kearney Bound, and who are motivated to succeed academically and fully utilize the resources to support you.
WHAT’S THE COST?
There is no cost to belong. Students who attend the week-long event will have meals covered.
WHEN IS IT?
The Academy runs a full semester beginning in the fall. Students who register for the Loper Success Week will arrive to campus Saturday, Aug. 16 and participate in the 5-day events from Aug. 17 – 21. You’ll be finished and ready for Blue Gold Welcome that starts Aug. 22.
