Research focus areas: The intersection of family well-being and parenting, particularly among single-mother households. How mothers’ work conditions, and economic stress influence parenting behaviors and children’s socioemotional outcomes. Long-term goal is to inform social policies and interventions that support parents’ work–family balance and enhance children’s developmental outcomes.

Biography
Dr. Eunjee Song joined the UNK Social Work Department in 2024. Her research interests include child welfare and family and child well-being. She received her PhD in Social Work from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and her Master of Social Work degree from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea.
Prior to beginning her graduate education, she worked on a fundraising team at a nonprofit organization as a social worker. She also worked at a government research institution evaluating social welfare policies in Korea. She has also served as a volunteer in diverse social service settings, including community centers, hospitals, research centers, and child and mother support agencies in both USA and South Korea.
