As a parent, there is no single more important question to ask during the college search process than, “Will my child be safe?” When you come to visit us, talk to UNK students or their parents and they’ll most likely tell you the reason they chose to come here, above all, is because it felt like a safe, community-centered environment they could call “home”.
The Department of Police and Parking Services at UNK is a highly effective and efficient department, largely because of the close interaction and open lines of communication it has with the University as a whole. The Department offers a full range of police, parking, and hazmat/safety resources around the clock to ensure a safe environment for the entire UNK campus community.
The Police division of the Department of Police and Parking Services consists of full and part-time officers who conduct area patrols, enforce federal, state, and local law, as well as UNK policies and coordinate crime prevention programs.
