Biography

Hometown: Wilber, NE

College Education: I graduated Fall 2021 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Science and Psychology. I am currently pursuing my master's degree in Secondary School Counseling 7-12, here at UNK.

Favorite Thing About UNK: My favorite thing about UNK is the community. From the first moment I stepped onto campus I felt welcomed, included, and saw so many opportunities where I could grow and explore who I am! The size of UNK allows you to create strong connections with students, faculty, staff, and the community!

Advice to Future Lopers: Explore yourself! College is a time to discover who you are and find the things that interest you, excite you, and explore ways to grow into who you want to be. There are so many opportunities ahead of you! Have an open mind to trying new things, putting yourself out there, and experiencing all the different avenues that UNK and Kearney have to offer!

Hobbies and Interests: I am a BIG social person. I love hanging out with friends and family and fill a lot of my free time hanging with them! I also really enjoy volleyball, so throughout college I spent a lot of time on intramural volleyball teams and KPR volleyball leagues as well! I also LOVE listening to music and I enjoy going to concerts any chance I get!

Favorite Places on Campus: My favorite place on campus would be the Nebraska Student Union! It’s a place where I run into so many familiar faces and typically stop at Starbucks passing through for a nice caffeine pick me up!

Fun Fact About Myself: I’m from the Czech Capital of the United States, so I know how to Czech Dance! I also love to deer hunt, watch sunsets, and stay active!

Why I chose UNK: UNK was the first and only college visit I went on because I instantly I felt a sense of home. I come from a small town, and I enjoyed the idea of a smaller community with lots of opportunities to connect and build strong relationships with my professors and peers. I was highly involved in high school and saw that UNK was a great place where I could easily become involved on campus and network with people within the community as well! I hope to see you on campus in the future! (: GO LOPERS!
