Industrial Distribution is a big deal at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. After all, how many programs can boast a 100% placement rate? As impressive as this is, it didn’t happen overnight. In fact, one would have to go back many decades to understand how today’s UNK students are being uniquely prepared for the leadership roles over 1000 graduates currently enjoy.

Like Jami Koester and Whitney Kuta do for the technology side of the CBT, Amanda Ransdell “effectively assist(s) with the managing of all (the) programs” for the Nebraska Safety Center. All three ladies are essential to their departments. A typical weekly meeting with UNK’s Cyber Club often involves students playing games such as chess, Exploding Kittens, or UNO. Around holidays, they indulge in themed potluck dinners where students might engage in foods that are spooky or ones they are encouraged to be thankful for.

The idea was formed to create new drinks “named after the faces you see every day” at UNK. This gave the class the “sense of team” that Hollman was hoping for. Since the decision was made to use Brewed Awakening as part of this class project, Hollman explains that it’s “gotten quite a bit of steam.”

Troy Bruntz pursued his MBA because it was required of him to assume the role of President and CEO at McCook Community Hospital. He chose his alma mater because he knew the quality education he would receive. He quickly realized how applicable the degree was to running a hospital and how his ties with UNK could contribute to improving healthcare in rural areas.

EPT is an honorary organization consisting of students who are invited to join based on their academic performance. As part of the honor of being inducted into EPT, they have their “superior academic performance” recognized by other UNK students.

The members have visited the Lincoln Air Show with plans to take other tours of aviation museums and facilities during the school year. Guest speakers will be brought in to “discuss their aviation careers and provide networking opportunities in the aviation industry.”

The club usually meets in West Center once a month, but it’s not unusual for them to decide to hang out in a more casual atmosphere such as Brewed Awakenings. A typical meeting might consist of discussing club business, listening to a guest speaker who is a local business leader, or taking a tour of one of the many businesses around Kearney.

The AG Business Club meets monthly in West Center with no set time to join. Interested students simply need to show up. Like UNK in general, this club has a relaxed, family atmosphere that is guaranteed to make its members feel welcome.
