A WELL-ROUNDED EDUCATION AT UNK INCLUDES ACTIVITIES AND AN INTERNSHIP. Mackenzie Puckett, UNK senior in Sports Management and Marketing completed a fall marketing internship with the UNK Athletic Department. Mackenzie also was a senior middle blocker on the UNK volleyball team who achieved NCAA Division II national runner-up. Mackenzie said, "Throughout this process, my internship made me a better student as it reminded me that learning is for life.” After graduating in December, Mackenzie will begin the MBA Program at UNK. - Mackenzie Puckett, UNK Senior, Sports Management & Marketing, UNK Athletic Department (Fall 2019).
UNK INTERNS DO MEANINGFUL WORK IN OUR COMMUNITY. Valeria Denman, UNK senior in Family Studies from Alda, Nebraska, interned at Lexington Public Schools in the McVinney-Vento Homeless Program. She worked with families to assist them with local resources and organized a dental day. Valeria will graduate in May 2020 and hopes to continue working with children. - Valeria Denman, UNK Senior; Family Studies, Lexington Public Schools,(Fall 2019).
"Doing an internship really opened my eyes and made it much easier to understand concepts that I struggled learning in the classroom. My degree program does an excellent job of preparing students for real life work experience.”
