The College of Business and Technology at UNK is privileged to launch the Mountain Plains Journal of Business and Technology. This peer-reviewed open-access digital journal is the first academic journal relating to the discipline of Business hosted by any campus in the NU system. The journal is hosted in UNK’s Calvin T. Ryan Library under its OpenSPACES@UNK platform.
The journal was started in 2000 as the Mountain Plains Journal of Business and Economics by the Mountain Plains Business Association (MPBA). No longer tied to MPBA the journal moved to UNK from Southern Utah University in 2019 under its new name with the strong support of SVC Bicak and the then CBT Dean Burkink. Dean Wilke of Calvin T Library offered to host the journal under the library’s OpenSPACES@UNK platform. Thanks to the help from UNK archivist Laurinda Weisse the journal was set up and all of the archival materials were launched in December 2019.
The first issue of the journal (Volume 21, issue 1) is scheduled to be launched the fourth week of June. One of the highlights of this first issue from UNK will be an essay on Leadership by UNK’s Chancellor Kristensen.
