The University of Nebraska at Kearney’s online Biology M.S. is the best of both worlds for graduate students, according to Online Masters Colleges (OMC) recent ranking.

Ranked 14th for “Best Online Biology Master’s Programs” and first for “Most Affordable Online Biology Graduate Degree,” UNK’s online Biology M.S. provides quality education at an affordable price.

With more than 20 years of experience, UNK’s Biology M.S. “has kept the same flexibility and rigor but also evolved with the times,” UNK’s online Biology M.S. Program Coordinator Robyn Schoenebeck said.

Beyond staying up to date with innovative technology, the online program continues to enhance and increase its elective course offerings to allow for program customization and flexibility for their students.

“UNK recognizes that each student is unique,” Schoenebeck continued. “Our role is to help every student succeed in reaching their individual goal.”

The 36-credit hour master’s program only has 12 credit hours of required courses, allowing students to customize the program with more than 50 unique elective courses to fit each student’s distinct career and educational aspirations.

“Our faculty are not only committed to helping students develop new skills or become more knowledgeable in a particular subject, but they also genuinely care about our students’ well-being and growth,” Associate Professor of Biology Dr. Austin Nuxoll said.

UNK’s online Biology M.S. students not only have access to exceptional faculty but also two online program coordinators who directly assist students from application to graduation. Schoenebeck and Brian Peterson are essential roles to the program's success.

UNK’s online Biology M.S. Program Coordinator Brian Peterson was selected by UNK's Chancellor Doug Christensen as the December 2023 KUDOS award recipient for demonstrating exceptional service and dedication to online graduate students.

The award-winning faculty and staff and the program’s recent top rankings depict the program’s dedication to providing exceptional and flexible education at an affordable price.

“This combination of academic excellence and genuine concern for student success sets our program apart and creates a supportive learning environment where students thrive,” Nuxoll said.
