Throughout Nebraska and other areas, many students are still feeling the effects of recent severe weather, flooding and loss in their homes or communities. As an online student at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, you can access university resources that can help during challenging times—now or whenever you have a need.

University of Nebraska Emergency Assistance

UNK, along with other University of Nebraska campuses, have joined together in flood recovery strategies to ensure that you receive the support you need to continue toward your degree. View the Flood Emergency 2019 information for details about specific financial, academic and service-based resources from the University of Nebraska.

Here are some student services, resources and helpful links specific to the UNK campus:

Technology support

If you are struggling with the technology needed to access your online courses, UNK’s Information Technology Student Services page can help. This one-stop website can connect you to the UNK Help Desk and other technology information you may be looking for—from Canvas and MyBlue login pages to computer support and spyware removal instructions.

Academic support

Keeping up with online coursework can be difficult when there are job, family and community needs in the midst of weather-related damage. If you have not already done so, be sure to contact your advisor for support and to let them know about your situation. They are here to be your advocate and help you reach academic success. You can find their contact information in MyBlue.

Personal support

It’s natural to feel overwhelmed by the challenges you are facing or by thoughts or feelings that may trouble you. As an online student, you have access to UNK’s counseling services and resources through the Student Health and Counseling Office. Staff in this office can support you through counseling, student health, health promotion resources and the Women’s Center.

Financial support

The thought of next semester’s tuition can be daunting when other expenses are taking priority. The Loper Payment Plan can split tuition into three monthly installments during the semester. You may also be eligible for financial aid and scholarships as an online student that you may not have considered. To learn more about your options, contact the UNK Office of Financial Aid.

Not sure who to ask?

Reach out to us at UNK eCampus, and we can connect you to a UNK staff member or office that can answer your questions or provide the support you need. Contact us at ecampus@unk.edu or 1.800.865.6388.
