Interim Music Director and Conductor Erin Beave

Mr. Erin Beave is currently the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Kearney Symphony Orchestra. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Master of Music with an emphasis in Conducting from Kansas State University. Mr. Beave has served as a board member for the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association, and held a Graduate Conducting Assistantship while at Kansas State University.

Mr. Beave remains active as a clinician, adjudicator, and performer. In the past, Mr. Beave played principal trumpet in the Kearney Symphony Orchestra, leaving that position in 2025 to accept his current role with the orchestra. He led the 43rd Army Band's Concert Brass Ensemble, retiring as principal trumpet of the 43rd Army Band in 2019. Mr. Beave is a member of both the Cathedral Brass Quintet and the Hastings Symphony Orchestra, and he has appeared as a soloist with the 43rd Army Band and the Hastings Symphony Orchestra.

Mr. Beave has served as the guest clinician for various honor bands, most recently in January 2025.  Professional memberships include the National Band Association, the Nebraska Music Educators Association, the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association, the National Association for Music Education, the International Trumpet Guild, and the International Conductors Guild.

Mr. Beave served as the Director of Bands at Hastings (NE) High School from 2004-2023 and now teaches K-5 classroom music for the Hastings Public Schools.
