Concert: "Cowboys and Caballeros"

This concert showcases two composers who helped to define national voices in their music. Warm up your winter with selections from the ballet, Rodeo, by American composer Aaron Copland and the spirited Huapango by Mexican composer, José Pablo Moncayo. One of the 2023-2024 UNK Concerto-Aria winners will perform on this concert.

Concert: "Romantic Expressions"

The season finale includes two works that are musically opulent and guaranteed audience pleasers. The familiar melodies of Borodin’s In the Steppes of Central Asia and the lush orchestration in Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8 in G Major form bookends to a program of late romantic-era music. The second of the UNK Concerto-Aria winners will also be featured on this concert.
