Be Blue. Be Gold. Be GREEK!

The University of Nebraska at Kearney is home to six sororities and six fraternities that are instrumental in cultivating a dynamic and educational collegiate experience for students. Members are involved across campus, take on service projects that benefit the campus and Kearney community, excel academically, and consistently hold some of the top leadership positions on campus. If you are looking to find connections at UNK and make your four years exceptional, the Greek community is the place for YOU!

What are we all about?

The University of Nebraska at Kearney has a successful, thriving Greek community with volunteers, chapter members, and University representatives who are actively engaged in promoting these chapters. Our community is built on four main pillars:

  • Scholarship. Our focus is on helping students reach their academic goals and graduating with a college degree.
  • Leadership. The Greek community gives you opportunities to expand important skills like time management, communication, and organization by being a leader in your chapter or the community.
  • Service. Giving back to others is at our core, and the Greek community prides itself on countless community service hours and thousands of dollars raised each year.
  • Friendship. The main reason why students join the Greek community is because of the connections that are created with fellow Lopers. Especially as a new student, joining a chapter helps you find your niche in college and make friends that last a lifetime.

The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life is located on the first floor of the Student Union in Suite 142.

"I can’t imagine life at UNK if I hadn’t joined Sigma Phi Epsilon. SigEp brought me close to 80 likeminded men who share my ideals to strive for excellence in academics and campus involvement; they push me to constantly better myself. Joining Greek life is undoubtedly the best decision I’ve made in college."
