Move-in Information

Fall 2025 Move In

Students living on campus for the Fall 2025 semester will be able to check into their residence hall room starting on Friday, August 22nd.  First Year students should plan to check-in by 11:00AM so you can get settled before you begin orientation. 

Students should have their UNK ID Card ready at the time they arrive at their residence hall.  If you do not have your ID Card, please go to the UNK ID Card Office located in the Nebraskan Student Union to pick it up. 

More information regarding move in will be available prior to August 1st.

Preparing to Arrive to Campus 

  • Rent a loft to help create more space in your room. 
  • Submit your photo for your UNK ID Card (if not done at NSE) 
  • Label all boxes, large items that cannot go in boxes (TVs, furniture, etc.) with Building, Room Number and Last Name 
  • Purchase Personal Property or Renters Insurance through your family’s existing policy (Recommended). 
  • Review Move-in Postcard for
    • Recommended arrival times
    • Unloading zones 
    • Opening Weekend Highlighted Events

When you arrive to campus 

  • Have your UNK ID Card ready to check-in.  If you did not get your UNK ID at NSE, please go to the UNK ID Card Office (located in the Nebraskan Student Union) to pick up your card. 
  • Park in Unloading Zone (30 minute time limit) 
  • Leave family to unload your vehicle while you check-in at your residence halls. 
  • Move your vehicle from the unloading zone 
  • Move items to your room 
  • Set up your room and get settled for classes to start 
  • Parents: Attend Welcome meetings in residence hall main lounge 
  • Meet other students living on your floor/in your building 

Early Arrival Group Information

Each fall, the Office of Residence Life receives requests from University partners to allow their groups members to arrive to campus early so they can begin their fall practices, and etc. Various offices will submit their times and dates for move-in throughout the summer and the following list will be updated regularly.  Below is a list of groups that have made arrangements for their members to arrive on campus early.  Communication regarding how to check-in will come from the group's sponsor.  If you have questions about when or how your group will check-in, please contact the group sponsor listed below.
