Academies

Loper Launch is offering three academy options from 9:00am-12:00pm.

READING ACADEMY (Grades 1-3) | June 5 - 30

Monday-Friday, 9am-12pm

Help your student be successful in their educational future, avoid “summer learning loss,” and develop a love of reading! Certified reading specialists give your child the opportunity to improve (or maintain) their reading skills through focused reading instruction and on-campus field trips. Students develop a love of reading in a fun and engaging environment.

Cost: $280 per student ($180 per student if qualify for free/reduced lunch)

PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY (Grades 4-6) | June 5 – 30

Crane River Theater Performing Arts Academy is a unique opportunity to study the many aspects of music, theater, and dance with experts working in the field. You will learn choreography, make your own props, memorize dialogue, practice good singing techniques, and learn how to work as a team! At the end of the four weeks, we will put on a full performance! This academy is a collaboration with Crane River Theater. This year’s show will be revealed on March 10!

Cost: $280 per student ($180 per student if qualify for free/reduced lunch)

SPEECH LANGUAGE ACADEMY (Grades 1-4) | June 26 – 30

Monday-Friday, 9am-12pm

Does your child have difficulties with speech? Do others find it hard to understand your child? Maybe they have an IEP or you simply have concerns with their speech-language development. If so, we encourage you to attend our one-week Speech and Spelling Camp. Help advance your student’s speech-language skills in a focused and engaging small-group setting. Your student will participate in fun games and activities that also improve their speech sounds. UNK’s Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic will help identify each student’s speech sound errors and then tailor instruction to each individual.

Cost: $70 per student ($45 per student if qualify for free/reduced lunch)

One-Week Themed Workshops

Choose from a variety of one-week workshops, ranging from STEM to Art to History. There is something for everyone!

The classes are now three hours long, running from 9:00am – 12:00pm, giving our campers even more time to explore and learn. Each of our themed workshops are engaging, educational, and connected to the UNK campus.

Cost per workshop: $70 per student ($45 per student if qualify for free/reduced lunch)

Countdown Hour (Grades 1-8) | Each Week from 7:30 – 8:45am

Countdown Hour is a great opportunity for families who need an earlier drop-off. Students will be able to read, play games, complete a craft, or engage in educational technology. Our campers enjoy the non-structured, supervised time as they countdown to their workshop. Drop off anytime between 7:30-8:45am that is convenient for your family.

Cost: $10 per week; $6 if qualify for free/reduced lunch
