New Student Orientation

UNK is pleased to welcome new international students each semester. The presence of international students enriches the UNK campus and the Kearney community and we are very excited to have you as students of our university.

To ensure a smooth transition to life at UNK, we offer an in-person orientation once you arrive. Orientation is mandatory for every new international student.

New International Student Orientation (NISO) is designed to acquaint you with the campus, the community and with U.S. Immigration requirements, and help you learn what it takes to be a successful student at UNK. During this time, you will be given the opportunity to:

learn about the U.S. academic system
open a bank account
meet professors and other important people who work with students
take care of your vaccination requirements
learn about student activities and opportunities to get involved on campus
and most importantly; make new friends!

Prepare for your arrival in Kearney by completing the Admitted Student Next Steps and registering for NISO.
