Entrance Test Preparation

Test Preparation Information

Many tools are available to help you prepare for the application and interview process. Test preparation is an important part of this process.

Some fields, such as medicine, physical therapy, physician assistant, optometry and dentistry require an entrance examination before application. These include such tests as the MCAT, DAT, OAT, GRE and PCAT.

Research the field you are interested in and find out if it requires such a test, what type of scores are expected to be competitive, when you need to take the test, and what kinds of study and review options are available to you. These scores are critical so plan on some preparation time.

To aid in your preparation for these tests, the Health Science Programs Office has several resources available including:

  • Test review materials available for check-out: including sample questions and tests, study books, CD reviews and flashcards.
  • Comprehensive list of sample tests and other materials available online for little or no charge.
  • Online Resources
  • Health Science Test Prep Review Workshop, offered each Spring semester.
