Safety Measures

The community’s health and safety are very important to us. Therefore, the following safety precautions will be taken when packaging and distributing PAWS University: Home Edition kits.

Packaging area will:

  • Be large and open to allow for significant social distancing and ventilation.
  • Be clearly marked and only entered by a few (<10) authorized PAWS U staff wearing face masks.
  • Have all surfaces and high touch areas disinfected with CDC recommended disinfectants at the beginning, middle and end of each packing day.

Kit materials will:

  • Remain in the boxes, unopened, for a minimum of 5 days to take into consideration how long coronavirus lives on various materials*
  • Only be handled in the sanitized packaging area by authorized PAWS U personnel in appropriate attire.
  • Be removed from any outside packaging and sanitized if necessary.
  • Be placed in paper bags, which will be closed (with a sticker to note sanitary measures were taken) and only handled by PAWS U staff wearing gloves and masks.

PAWS U staff members will:

  • Self-monitor for symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath) and will not come to work if symptomatic. 
  • Wear a face mask any time they are in the packaging area or near materials/kits.
  • Wear gloves when packaging items.
  • Wash hands frequently, including before and after putting on face masks.
  • Remain 6 feet apart whenever possible and reduce movement.
  • Wear gloves and masks when touching, carrying or distributing kits.
