Steps to Make R.Y.D.E. Transit Reservation

  • You must call to schedule the ride 24 hours in advance, or at least the day before. Same day rides cannot be scheduled.
    • State the following when you call:
      • Good morning/afternoon. My name is _________ and I would like to schedule a ride. I will need to be picked up at location of pick-up at time of pick-up. I would like to schedule this ride on day and date.
    • The first time you call, you will need to provide:
      • First and last name
      • Your campus address
      • U.S. phone number (if you have one)
      • Date of birth
    • If more than one student is going to the same place at the same time, the caller can schedule a ride for all students. Please just state: There will be ___ (number of) riders.
    • There will be a 15 minute window for the pick-up time. Therefore, you should be ready 15 minutes before the pick-up time and be willing to wait 15 minutes after the pick-up time.
    • The bus will only wait for 5 minutes after arrival. If the student is not there, the bus will leave.
    • Cash is accepted to pay the $2.00 at the time of pick-up; exact change is requested.
    • Pick up and drop off location is the parking lot by the Student Union.
  • To schedule your ride home:
    • When you are ready (or getting close to being ready) to go, call the R.Y.D.E. Transit number to schedule your ride.
    • State:
      • Good morning/afternoon. My name is _____________ and I am ready to go. I am at location of pick-up.
        • Your pick-up place does not have to be the same as your drop-off. Example: the bus can drop you off at Hy-Vee but pick you up at the mall.
    • You will need to pay $2.00 for the ride home.
