Speech-Language Pathology photoSpeech-Language Pathology (SLP) is listed as a top graduate degree for jobs today, according to Forbes. But before new professionals can complete graduate studies and enter the field, they need foundational knowledge, especially when changing careers. That’s where the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) comes in—the first step down the SLP path.

Speech-language pathologists assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social and cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in people of all ages. Through their expertise, they play a large role in helping to strengthen client care in their communities.

UNK’s series of ten online undergraduate courses (29 credit hours) prepares aspiring speech-language pathologists with the prerequisite courses and expertise they need prior to graduate studies. Gaining SLP certification after completing foundational and graduate studies opens the door to careers in rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities, and the school system.
