Sam is a senior at UNK and she is graduating in May! She is very active with Enactus and this year was the Chairman of New Venture Adventure. Below she shares a little bit of her experience with us:

Sam DuennermanTell us about yourself.

I grew up in Kearney and went to school in Amherst, which is a small town just outside of Kearney. At Amherst I was involved in sports, FFA, and FBLA. My involvement with FBLA led me to pursue a degree in business and steered me toward a finance emphasis.

What degree are you getting at UNK?

I am majoring in business administration with an emphasis in finance & minor in family studies.

Why did you choose UNK for college?

I liked the small class sizes that UNK had to offer & it was affordable.

What was the best class you took?

I really enjoyed my family resource management course. In a way it brought together my finance and my family studies degrees.

How has your involvement with Enactus enhanced your UNK experience?

Enactus has enabled me to become more involved on campus and meet new people. I also have been able to apply what I learn in the class room to real life situations. Enactus also led me to Brewed Awakening where I have gained more experience running our real business than I would ever have imagined.

What is your dream job?

My dream job would be getting paid to travel around the world and volunteer, either helping people or working with animal rescue/sanctuaries.

Are you excited about graduation and what are you doing this last semester to prepare?

I'm super excited to graduate. As I get closer to graduation, I have been looking at possible career paths in and talking to people with careers that I'm interested in.
