The University of Nebraska at Kearney will be closed on Monday, September 6^th, 2021 for the Labor Day Holiday. 

Please consider donating to the crisis leave program.  This program allows any employee who earns vacation leave to donate up to five accumulated vacation days per calendar year.  The donated leave goes to a pool of crisis leave hours that are used to help an employee who is experiencing a crisis and does not have sufficient leave to cover their absence period.  Donation forms can be accessed through SAPPHIRE or the following link:

Allocation of tuition remission credits for the Fall Semester final submission is Friday, September 17, 2021. Allocate credits via Firefly/ESS, under Benefits, click “Employee & Dependent Scholarship”.

As of July 1, 2021 all new hire orientation will be electronic through our new Bridge platform located in Firefly. New hires will receive an email invitation, sent to their UNK emails, to complete this required program. This program covers the University of Nebraska system and reviews UNK specific information (including benefits, campus policies, payroll, compliance, and more).

The Procurement Card Exception Form has now been moved in to eSHOP under Special Forms.  This form will no longer be in SAPPHIRE.  Contact Procurement Services at 865-8525 if you have any questions.

As the result of a university wide RFP process, The University of Nebraska Board of Regents has approved a new strategic IT hardware supplier.  The RFP committee, composed of business, academic and IT representatives from all four university campuses, reviewed the supplier submissions and agreed to move forward with CDW-G as a single supplier for all Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Apple devices, including monitors and accessories.   Effective September 1^st, all IT hardware purchases will be processed by CDW-G. 

• How do I purchase IT equipment?
  • Effective September 1^st, the Dell and Connection punchouts will be removed from eSHOP.  Any purchases already approved will continue. Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Apple will all be provided via the new CDW-G punch-out

• What is covered under the new agreement?
  • The new agreement covers IT purchases from various manufacturers, including Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Apple for computer standards
  • The new agreement also includes negotiated discounts off all catalog items for the following categories:
    • Accessories, including Notebook/Mobile Device Accessories
    • Power, Cooling, Racks
    • UPS/Battery Backup
    • Desktop/Notebook Computers and Memory Upgrades

• What are Computer Standards and how do I buy them?
  • Computer Standards are University agreed upon laptop and desktop computer configurations designed for everyday use by faculty and staff. Utilization of Computer Standards assures fast and effective ITS troubleshooting assistance and drives down pricing.
