Why I love the University of Nebraska at Kearney: I love UNK for many different reasons. UNK has provided me with wonderful opportunities as a student and now out of college as well. Our campus is the perfect size that I was able to be involved with multiple different student organizations while being a college athlete as well. UNK also gave me an opportunity to become a leader in those student organizations that have greatly helped me as a professional today. The professors are also another one of my favorite parts about the college. They really get to know you and will work with you during your years in school.
Why I love the Kearney community: Kearney, Nebraska is the perfect size in my mind. It is not too big or too small. Kearney is a growing community. Our city is constantly looking for more areas to strive in. There is always something new to do or a new park to see! Kearney is a comfortable city to live in – someone is always there to help you out!
Hobbies/Interests: I am an outdoors girl for sure! I love to hike, bike, fish and playing intramural sports with my friends. You will often find me listening to country music (really loud) with my friends and being active around the community.
Favorite place on campus: My favorite spot on campus is the Health and Sports Center! This building is used for all sorts of events during the school year including, basketball, volleyball, wresting, campus wide events, and so much more. The atmosphere is always awesome!
Favorite Restaurant in Kearney: My favorite restaurant in Kearney is El Potrero. This is a very well-known Mexican restaurant. I am probably here a little too much! J
What I recommend doing while in Kearney: In Kearney, I recommend trying out a new park to fish out, to run at, or to just walk with your friends. Our parks are beautiful and offer so much. Kearney now has a whitewater rafting during the summer months down the Kearney canal. This is a great way to get a large group together to have some fun!
