SSG Kelly Oliver

Biography

SGT Oliver was born and raised in “The” Gibbon, NE, and is the second youngest of nine children. He attended Gibbon Public schools until completion in 2001.

I enlisted in the Nebraska Army National Guard on February 27th, 2009, after a brief break in service for a few years he re-enlisted and has been serving since. His significant assignments include:

  • 734th HHD
  • 530th MP Battalion
  • 95th FSC (SO) (A)
  • 92nd Troop Command

His military education includes:  Unit Supply Specialist, Transportation Management, Warrior Leadership Course, Utility Equipment Repair, and Army Master of Fitness.

Prior to accepting the position as a Military Science Instructor, I worked for Union Pacific Railroad. While employed by UP, I had several different job titles to include: Thermite Welder, Arc Welder, Tie Gang Foreman, Truck Foreman, Track Machine Operator, Material Foreman.

SGT Oliver has two children, a 12-year-old son named Charlie, and an 8-year-old daughter named Olivia. His spouse of 13 years works for Gibbon Schools where his kids attend.
