CPT Damien Cullen, from Norfolk, NE and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from UNL and is currently pursuing his Master of Public Administration online through Penn State University.
He enlisted in the Nebraska Army National Guard in 2004 and was commissioned as a Quartermaster Officer through the UNL ROTC program. His significant assignments include:
As a Logistician, he deployed to Iraq in November of 2016 as part of the newly designed 1st ID MCPOD assigned to Baghdad. His primary responsibility was working with Coalition partners to monitor and ensure the required supplies were being planned for and transported to the tactical assembly areas in support of Iraq retaking Mosul.
As an Infantryman, he deployed to Iraq in March of 2006 as part of the 134th LRS, stationed to Forward Operating Base (FOB) Anaconda near Balad, Iraq. His primary responsibility was mounted HMMWV gunner and dismounted automatic rifleman, for the Co’s QRF mission.
CPT Cullen’s military awards include: The Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Army Joint Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster; the Army Achievement Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Iraq Campaign Medal with stars, the Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, and various other awards.
His military education includes the Logistics Captain’s Career Course, Pre-Command course, Army Instructor course, Aerial Delivery Materiel Officer course, Quartermaster Basic Officer course, Airborne school, Infantryman MOS, and Armor Crewman MOS.
Damien, his wife, Krista, their three-year old son Declan, and 6-month-old daughter Reagan, reside in Kearney where Krista is employed as a physical therapist at TEAM Physical Therapy clinic.
