The University of Nebraska at Kearney offers an accredited online Master of Arts in History with a Public History option that informs students about the creation and distribution of history for the public. UNK offers both public and digital history courses that teach students how to use digital tools and resources in historical research to better serve public audiences. The curriculum includes specialized courses taught by credentialed faculty.

The M.A. in History prepares students for careers with state, county, and local institutions, including: curators, historical interpreters, historical preservationists, consultants, museum directors, government historians, oral historians, cultural resource managers, and numerous other positions.
