This concentration leads to a School Librarian endorsement, which has received national recognition from the:

Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation logo

National recognition signifies that UNK’s School Librarian endorsement program has fully met all five prescribed ALA/AASL standards for initial preparation of school librarians. The five standards include: teaching for learning, literacy and reading, information and knowledge, advocacy and leadership, and program management.

The program does not lead to certification, and students pursuing certification in other states should check with their State Department of Education for certification requirements.

The Curriculum and Instruction program offers additional concentration areas to help you customize the degree to your professional needs.
