As the Family Studies Organization, we strive to provide knowledge, experience, and a connection to the community, as well as to equip them with the knowledge and experience for their future in/of serving families. We do this by committing ourselves to various volunteer opportunities such as the Big Even, S.A.F.E. Center Purse Auction, Kidz Explore, and at various community agencies. Throughout the year, we have had educational speakers from community agencies teach our group about their job duties and how they help the community. We also attend conferences such as the National Council on Family Relations Conference, which is held in a different city every fall. Our organization raised enough money to send six students to San Francisco to attend the conference in November 2009. We also help our members with information about volunteer, intern, and job opportunities in our community.
Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month, once a month, in Otto Olsen room 212.
