Located in the east end of the Nebraskan Student Union, the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) and Multicultural Center are places where students from diverse backgrounds can come together to plan events and raise cultural awareness on campus. There is a study area, computer bar, lounge, and student organization offices to give all students a place to meet, study, relax, and plan events.
Engaging students beginning in high school through when they become alumni of UNK. This is achieved through scholarships,
interactive programming, multicultural student organizations and other initiatives.
Educating
our students and the community about historical and current issues relating to
multicultural populations in our world. Allowing students a place to study and
feel welcome to ask questions about academics is a priority.
Empowering
students to become the leaders they are capable of. Through mentoring, retreats, trainings, and
conferences that help students build their skills before they are sent out into the
world as professionals.
Diversifying the campus and Kearney community by
educating about and uniting people from all ethnic groups, racial groups,
sexual orientations, and underrepresented groups and creating a home away from
home where all students feel welcome.
