The mission of the Women's Center is to foster a campus community in which women and men live and work together in a mutually respectful environment. The Center provides a safe space for students to meet, study, and access resources designed to empower full and healthy lives.
VisionThe vision of the Women's Center is providing a primary, pivotal point-of-contact for students to voice concerns addressing sensitive issues and responding in a caring, trained, and confidential way.
AffiliationThe Women's Center is part of the Counseling and Health Care Department. The Center has direct and confidential access to such professional personnel as RNs, nurse practitioners, licensed mental health practitioners, licensed clinical social workers, and licensed addictions counselors. The Center's staff receives crisis intervention specialty training through the SAFE Center--Kearney's relationship violence and domestic abuse shelter. Additionally, Women and Gender Studies work collaboratively with the Center to provide resources and support.
