Women's Center
Vision:
The Women’s Center serves as a centralized resource for the UNK community. Although many departments
throughout UNK have shared the responsibility of addressing sensitive issues in the lives of students, the
Center provides a primary point of contact for students to voice concerns and be responded to by caring,
trained Center staff.
Mission:
The Women’s Center strives to foster a campus community in which women and men can live and work
together in a mutually respectful environment. The Center seeks to facilitate the empowerment of women
and men through support, education and advocacy. The Center aims to provide programming that addresses
the needs and interests of both men and women.
Affiliation:
The Women’s Center is under the direction of the department of Counseling and Health Care. The Center has
access to and the support of licensed mental health professionals. Additionally, Women and Gender Studies
work collaboratively with the Center to provide resources and support.
