Ektron is able to manage uploaded images as well as uploaded files. The two most common image types currently allowed for upload at UNK are JPG (or JPEG) and GIF.
Any images uploaded with these extensions are automatically placed in the "images" subsection of the Ektron Library. This page describes how to upload an image that you wish to place immediately into a page that you are currently editing. To learn about uploading images directly to the Library without adding them to a page immediately, see Uploading to the Library. The uploading process is detailed here:

1) In the page you are currently editing place your cursor in the location that you want your image to appear.
*Note: You can always move an image to another location after it has been added to the page.

2) Click on the Library button in the Ektron toolbar.
*Note: If the Library window does not appear when you click the Library button you may have a Pop-Up Blocking program installed.

3) In the Library window that appears, enter a Description for the image you are about to upload. It can be the same as the filename of the picture itself if that helps you identify it more easily.

4) Click the Browse button to locate the image you want to upload from your computer. Once you have highlighted the file click the OK button to return to the Ektron Library window.
*Note: You can only upload one image at a time with this process, using the Library button to add each new picture.

5) Click the "Add Library" button. You will be asked if you are sure you want to upload the image and add it to your page immediately. Click Ok to continue.
*Note: You can click the "Preview" button right next to the "Add Library" button to preview your picture before uploading it.

| 6) The Library window will disappear and you will be taken back to your Ektron Workarea (if the workarea does not appear, it may simply be hidden behind another browser window. Minimize any other browser windows to find it again. |

7) The window that remains open in the Ektron Workarea describes the image properties that you can adjust before inserting the image into the page. Read more information on the Image Properties options. To add your image to your page simply click the OK button.
*Note: Once an image has been uploaded to the Ektron library it can be accessed and added to any other page through the same Library button. It only needs to be uploaded one time.
