Delta Tau Delta

Delta Tau Delta-ΔΤΔ

The Delta Tau Delta Fraternity at the University of Nebraska at Kearney is recognized by their international organization as the UNK Crescent Colony. Delta Tau Delta was founded in 1858 at Bethany College in West Virginia.

The Fraternity has spread to nearly 200 campuses, with more than 140 active chapters and colonies comprised of roughly 10,000 students. More than 170,000 men have joined the brotherhood of Delta Tau Delta since its founding.

Delt is a values-based organization with Truth, Courage, Faith and Power as her core values. The day a member takes his Oath, he begins his pursuit of a life committed to excellence. The Fraternity is the cornerstone of that journey. Nicknamed Delts, their colors are purple and gold.

Phi Delta Theta

The Phi Delta Theta fraternity at the University of Nebraska at Kearney is also recognized by their national organization as the Nebraska Beta chapter. Phi Delta Theta's national founding occurred on December 26, 1848; the chapter's UNK founding was in 1966 and later refounded in 2012.

Nicknamed the "PHI DELTs," their colors are azure and argent. Phi Delta Theta's mission statement is: "become the greatest version of yourself."

Phi Delt was founded on three pillars: The cultivation of friendship among its members, the acquirement individually of a high degree of mental culture, and the attainment personally of a high standard of morality. Shortened, Phi Delta Theta refers to the principles as friendship, sound learning, and rectitude.

Phi Gamma Delta

The Phi Gamma Delta fraternity at the University of Nebraska at Kearney is also recognized by their national organization as the Nu Kappa chapter. Phi Gamma Delta's national founding occurred on May 1, 1848; the chapter's UNK founding was in 2009.

Nicknamed the "FIJIs," Phi Gamma Delta their color is royal purple. Phi Gamma Delta's mission statement is: "friendship, the sweetest influence."

Phi Gamma Delta exists to promote lifelong friendships, to reaffirm high ethical standards and values, and to foster personal development in the pursuit of excellence. FIJI is committed to provide opportunities for each brother to develop responsibility, leadership, scholarship, and social skills in order to become a fully contributing member of society.

The Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity at the University of Nebraska at Kearney is also recognized by their international organization as the Iota Gamma chapter. Pi Kappa Alpha's national founding is March 1, 1868; the chapter's UNK founding is May 3, 1986.

Nicknamed the "PIKEs," their colors are garnet and old gold. Pi Kappa Alpha's mission statement is: "SLAG: scholars, leaders, athletes, gentleman." Pi Kappa Alpha is dedicated to developing men of integrity, intellect, and high moral character and to fostering a truly lifelong fraternal experience.

UNK Sigma Phi Epsilon

The Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at the University of Nebraska at Kearney is also recognized by their national organization as the Nebraska Gamma, RLC chapter. Sigma Phi Epsilon's national founding is November 1, 1901; the chapter's UNK founding is October 1, 1965.

Nicknamed the "SIG EPs," their colors are purple, red, and gold. Sigma Phi Epsilon's mission statement is: "virtue, diligence, and brotherly love."


SigEp's Residential Learning Community (RLC) program was established in 2012 to create a more powerful living-learning environment. The RLC concept expands upon traditional residential college models from Oxford and Cambridge, and recent research within higher education.
