Use common sense when applying for and engaging in off-campus employment! If a potential employer asks you to participate in an activity that makes you uncomfortable in any way, don't do it!
Student Employment Services (SES) at UNK acts only as a referral service and a job search tool. We make no recommendations or guarantees about the positions and employers listed on our website or through our office. SES has no control over and takes no responsibility for the truthfulness, accuracy, quality, safety, morality, desirability, or legality of employer information and position listings. SES and the University of Nebraska-Kearney do NOT verify the authenticity or legitimacy of every position that is posted but do strive to read positions carefully and not post positions that may be questionable. The ultimate responsibility for researching a potential employer and opportunity lies with the applicant. We encourage you to use common sense and caution when applying for all postions.
If you ever feel uncomfortable about a position you applied for or feel like a position should not be listed on the website. Please report it to Becca Dobry at 865-8380.
We can help you find part-time employees by posting your job description through our free job referral service. You can now use our convenient job posting form and submit your job description electronically. You can also fax or email your job description to us. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or fax to (308) 865-8096. Be sure to include a job title, description of duties, and contact information. We will post your position on the UNK website for 60 days unless you request otherwise. Child-care positions will be posted for 45 days. For employers posting child-care positions another option is available for you. Contact Mariah at email@example.com and request a copy of our Child-Care List. We maintain a list of available UNK students who can provide child-care services and will send their information to you if requested. When you are in need of their services feel free to give anyone on the list a call.
We average 100-125 job listings at any one time
We work with a pool of 600+ employers
We have a limited number of on-campus jobs that are open to all students. However, most jobs on-campus are available only to students that have been awarded Federal Work Study through Financial Aid
Employers tell us they are more inclined to hire students who use a resumé to apply for work over students who do not use a resumé.
