The course is similar to the the Basic Rider Course offered for the motorcycles, with
the exception of learning how to shift gears. Scooters do not
require the operator to manually shift the transmission.
The weekend course consists of approximately 15 hours of classroom and

- For the riding portion of the course, students must provide protective gear, including:
Over the ankle footwear.
Long non-flare pants (jeans preferred).
Full-fingered gloves (preferably leather).
Eye protection (sunglasses are ok).
DOT approved motorcycle helmet (some available).
Students will not be permitted to ride without this protective gear.
Students should be prepared to ride in adverse weather conditions and dress

Successful completion of the Scooter Basic Rider Course waives the requirement to take the
Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) written examination and road
test, which qualifies the student for the Motorcycle Scooter Only Endorsement "Other MZ" on
their operator's license.
SBRC courses are scheduled upon request. A minimum of 4 registrants is required to hold a course.

If you cannot attend a course you have registered for, to receive a
full refund, the request must be made more
than 10 days prior to the start of the course. All cancellations that
are made more than 10 days prior to the start of the course will be
charged a $25.00 cancellation fee. No refunds will be made to students
that cancel with less 10 days notice, are late to a course, dismissed,
voluntarily, do not pass a written or riding evaluation, are a previous
reschedule, or miss any segment of the course.
