When registering for a Pupil Transportation course check the on-line schedule to verify that the course is still available.  
 

Because of distance learning scheduling requirements - all distance learning requests for Level 2 courses must be received 14 school days prior to the beginning course date. Requests received less than 14 school days prior to the beginning course date access to distance learning technology. Registrations must be received 5 school days prior to the beginning course date. Registrations received less than 5 school days prior to the beginning course date cannot be guaranteed a seat in the requested course in the requested course.

In the event of weather related cancellations - an email will be sent to the email address provided on the registration form and we will attempt to place phone calls to both the employer and student phone numbers. Available locations are indicated on the Level 2 schedule. Additional locations may be available. Please contact the Pupil Transportation program at (308) 865-8270 or 1 (800) 854-7867 ext 4. a minimum of two weeks before the course date for details 
 

If registering for a Level 2 course please provide your current level card issue date (enter month, day and year).
This is required to verify eligibility to attend a Level 2 course.  Rule 91 states that Level 1/2 certification must be renewed every 5 years.  
 

Charges for Pupil Transportation Training courses are: 

  • Level 1 course - $150 per student. 
  • Level 1 waiver test - $25 per student. 
  • Level 2 course - $75 per student. 
  • Level 2 on-line waiver - $25 per student. 
  • Course costs are typically billed to the driver's employer. If the registrant is paying for the course or is a self-employed driver, please contact the Nebraska Safety Center to discuss payment options at bus@unk.edu or 1 (800) 854-7867 ext. 4 or (308) 865-8256.

The Nebraska Safety Center charges a $50 re-schedule fee for students who fail to attend as registered and do not notify the Nebraska Safety Center in advance of the absence. This charge will be billed to the student. 

Electronic Check Re-Present Policy – In the event your check is returned unpaid for insufficient or uncollected funds, we may re-present your check electronically. In the ordinary course of business, your check will not be provided to you with your bank statement, but a copy can be retrieved by contacting your financial institution.
