Please note: CTW will be closed for the 2012-13 academic year for infrastructure updates and will reopen for the 2013-14 academic year.
Located just
North of the Nebraskan Student Union lie Centennial Towers West and East, built
in 1967 and 1968. The Suite Style (one private bathroom shared between two rooms) buildings are named Centennial Towers in honor of the centennial of Nebraska’s
statehood. Each building is seven stories tall and between them they house
approximately 750 students.
The West Tower contains a computer lab with high speed internet, main
lounge and community kitchen. The Towers are secured 24 hours with a fob system in place for residents to get in and out of the building.
The rooms are unlike anything you have seen. You may be wondering, “why?” The buildings are curved, so
the rooms are curved as well. Don’t
let that scare you. Each room is equipped with a dresser, two desks and chairs
along with two extra long twin beds. The towers are set up in a suite style with an adjoining
bathroom between every 2 rooms.
Note: Students in suite-style rooms are responsible for cleaning and stocking their own bathroom.
This coming year the
West tower will be closed for an academic year to undergo renovations and will re-open
for the 2013-2014 school year.
