Social Work Program Suggestions 

Students interested in transferring to the UNK social Work Program are advised to focus on fulfilling General Studies requirements and to contact the UNK Social Work Department Chair for academic advising as soon as possible.  The Social Work course sequencing is five semesters (2-1/2 years) in length.  Earning a B.S. in Social Work requires finishing the following:  45 hours of required social work courses, 12 hours of electives, and 45 hours of General Studies courses.  Students are admitted to the program following the successful completion of SOWK 170 - Introduction to Social Welfare and SOWK 172 - Human Services Ethics and Experience.  Detailed and updated information about the program can be located at:  http://www.unk.edu/acad/socialwork/html.
