A program designed for students interested in a career as a professional pilot.
The College of Business and Technology offers a comprehensive aviation degree program which contains two areas of emphasis. Students interested in a career in airline management, airport management, or airport design should consider the Aviation Support Services Emphasis while those interested in becoming professional airline pilots or charter pilots would be best served in the Flight Operations Emphasis. The program is designed such that each area of emphasis share a common technology, aviation, and business core. Thus, the courses recommended for the first two years are very similar.

Students who intend to take part of their aviation education from a community college and then transfer to the University of Nebraska at Kearney Airway Science Programs should consult with both their academic advisor at the community college and the Director of Airway Science Programs at the University of Nebraska at Kearney to insure that the proper course of study is being pursued by that student.
