The University Ombudsperson cannot offer legal advice, advocate for any individual or serve as a representative in a hearing or any other formal proceedings. Communication with the ombudsperson is not normally considered "official notice" to the university. However, the University Ombudsperson is required to appropriately report situations involving discrimination, harassment, or dangers to self or others.
