Outstanding Student Organization Leader
The Outstanding Student Organization Leader Award is given to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership within their organization. The criteria for selection includes quality of leadership, mutual respect among peers and administrators, dedication to the improvement of campus life, and the ability to promote leadership development at UNK.
The award for 2012 goes to a student who was nominated by two different University employees for two different organizations. Currently, this individual serves as the Selection Chair for Mortar Board and oversaw the recruitment process and selection of new members. Since Mortar Board in an honor society, membership selection plays a vital role in the success of the organization. This nominator described her as "setting the bar high for future Membership Selection Chairs. And while she is heavily involved in other organizations, she made Mortar Board a priority." Her second nominator has been elated with her involvement as President of Loper Programming and Activities Council. It has been visible that this past year, during her term, the organizations has grown tremendously which can be attributed to her hard work and dedication to the organization.
